Saturday night at TPCR Steve Caunt in the #9 Fireworld maxim had a very good night up against a strong field of 48 nominations including Far, Dumesny & Loudon.

The ACT9 Fireworld Maxim time trialed in 20th position out of the 48 car field on a track that surprised many with it's drive early, Steve & crew chief Matt Brown were optimistic going into the Brian Healy race & were hoping to give the team a full shake down before venturing off on a full schedule in 09/10.

The 20th spot in the TT placed him in heat 4 & off the front row, a great position to be in early in the night, Steve had the V5 of Max Dumesny hot on his tail, but Caunt was strong to the end of the heat claiming victory and qualifying for the b dash.

Dash 2 had Steve Caunt on the 4th row and again in some pretty hot company on the track with the likes of Farr, Dumesny, Dumesny Jr & Maher, going over the line in 8th was good & placing Steve on the 8th row for the final.

Feature time was up & the #9 Fire Service Plus machine set in for the feature distance out of position 16, this Feature would be good for Steve as it will be one of 40 this summer he is hoping to qualify for, "the experience of running against these guys is priceless, they run hard, quck & clean & thats what I want to do, the more we race these guys the better the team develops, I am looking forward to a big summer with this car venturing all over Australia following WSS & some big events in Perth as well, This night at PCR was only one step in a long path ahead of us"

When the flag dropped Steve was happy to start 16th & finish in 1 piece in 16th, mission accomplished, the team gained the valuable experience necessary to run with these guys on a full time basis & will get better as the season progresses.
